It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Ryan Whitlock, Kinect Capital’s Acting CFO, who died on July 31, 2025, at the age of 62. Ryan was a beloved colleague, mentor, and friend whose entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to community left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
From his early days as a resourceful entrepreneur to his leadership roles in multiple startups, including his time as CEO of San Diego-based Z57, Ryan’s career was marked by vision, resilience, and a deep commitment to helping others succeed. Beyond his professional achievements, Ryan was known for his humor, warmth, and love of family — especially his cherished role as a grandparent.
Matt Warnock, Acting CEO of Kinect Capital, shared, “Ryan was a man of integrity and generosity. His guidance and friendship enriched our organization and the wider entrepreneurial community. We will deeply miss him.”
