VentureCapital. Org Becomes Kinect Capital

Kinect Capital

(February 24, 2023, Salt Lake City, Utah) Embracing our mission to serve overlooked entrepreneurs, including women and minorities by preparing them for fundraising and connecting them to helpful capital sources through a culture of kinship, VentureCapital. Org refreshes our brand and DBA to Kinect Capital.

Started in 1983 as the Wayne Brown Institute, this 501(c)3 non-profit has served thousands of founders and CEOs over these past 40 years. Our alumni have raised over $1.2Bn in capital, and there’s been over $10Bn in exits since 2009.

Becoming Kinect Capital is the second DBA and branding change for the non-profit, as in the early 2000’s it became VentureCapital. Org to reflect the main source of capital the founders were aligned to receive funding from.

Due to the modernization of fund raising across Debt, Equity, and Non-dilutive, the first DBA became confusing and limited the capital provider audience outside of VC’s who our services support.

Our non-profit creates connections through an education, mentor, and pitch program for ALL entrepreneurs. We serve everyone, and especially those who have been overlooked, such as women, minorities, rural, and veterans.

Our programs and community make entrepreneurs more investable and we connect them to various capital resources.
